The Frederick Police Department conducted Alcohol Compliance Checks of commercial establishments selling Alcohol products within the City of Frederick.

Frederick, Maryland – On February 10th, the Frederick Police Department conducted Alcohol Compliance Checks of commercial establishments selling Alcohol products within the City of Frederick. This is the second round of compliance checks within the City of Frederick.

Frederick Police Officers, with the help of underage volunteers, were able to check 34 businesses for compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol products to minors. The Frederick Police Department would like to thank the following business establishments for their compliance with state laws: East Patrick St. Liberty 869 E. Patrick Street, Browns Discount Liquors 908 East Patrick Street, Rosedale Ice 300 North East Street, East Street Liberty 1301 North Market Street, Market on Market 109 North Market Street, Frederick Discount Liquors 5291 North Bentz Street, H&R Food Market 89 South Market Street, Fox’s Sport & Bait 501 South Market Street, Amber Meadows Liquors 183C Thomas Johnson Drive, Beckley’s Country Store 7611A Willow Road, BP/A-1 Choice Mart 300 South Jefferson Street, Festival Liquors 446 Prospect Boulevard, A-1 Mart 649 Himes Avenue, Westridge Liquor 1045 West Patrick Street, DJ Liquors 1313 West Patrick Street Suite C, Golden Mile Tiger Mart/Exxon 1380 West Patrick Street, Snax-Old Farm 2050 Yellow Springs Road, Plus Mart II 1202 East Patrick Street, Frederick Basket Company 12 North East Street, Eastside Liquors 507 North East Street Unit 115, Hop and Vine 14 North Market Street, Sunshine Liquors 701 Motter Avenue, Riverside Liquors 1299-A Riverbend Way, Lucky Liquors 100 South Jefferson Street, Sunrise Liquors 407 South Jefferson Street, Frederick Getgo 1000 West Patrick Street, Hillcrest Beer & Wine 1090 West Patrick Street, and Willowtree Liquors 5 Willowdale Drive Suite 8.

The following establishments did not comply with the law and offenders were issued citations: Manny Mart 119 South Market Street, Frederick Wine House 7820 Wormans Mill Road, Joey’s Express Convenience Store 430 East Patrick Street, Ye Old Spirits Shop 1305 West 7th Street, Rosehill Service Station 1561 Opossumtown Pike, Village Mart 8301 River Run Road.

This round of compliance checks was one strategy of the Frederick County – Alcohol Prevention Initiative Coalition (FC-API) strategic plan to address underage drinking issues in Frederick. Other strategies planned for the next several months include parent education workshops, alcohol merchant trainings, and marketing messages to parents and adults.

Funding for the community-based Frederick County – Alcohol Prevention Initiative Coalition and the activities of the strategic plan are funded by the Maryland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration through the Frederick County Health Department in collaboration with the Asian American Center of Frederick.
