The Frederick City Police Department made twelve arrests for driving while intoxicated over the weekend of October 25th, 26th, 27th and in the early morning hours of the 28th.
The Frederick City Police Department arrested twelve drivers over the weekend for driving while intoxicated. These arrests included drunk drivers who were involved in vehicle accidents as well as vehicle stops conducted by patrol officers during routine patrol duties. No individuals were hurt in these accidents. Aggressive patrol enforcement by a number of patrol squads, and a DWI saturation initiative, were responsible for this high number of arrests made during this period.
The Frederick City Police Department would like to remind its citizens and community about the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving. The Police department will continue with its efforts in this fight against drunk driving through aggressive traffic enforcement efforts, and a number of DWI grants. The Frederick Police will be pro-active in the enforcement of Maryland Motor vehicle laws related to driving while intoxicated. The Frederick Police Department would like thank its citizens with their assistance through anonymous phone calls, and observations, in reporting anyone suspected of drinking and driving.
