Whitesell's Pharmacy, the Frederick Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host a drug disposal event on October 26.
On October 26, 2013 Whitesell’s Pharmacy, along with the Frederick Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, will host a drug disposal event. The event will be held 10:00AM to 2:00 PM at the Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, MD.
The purpose of the event is to allow citizens a safe and proper means of disposing of unused and expired medications.
Flushing or throwing away medications puts our waterways and aquatic life at risk. Proper disposal prevents theft and misuse.
Receptacles will be provided for disposal. No personal information will be collected, and citizens are encouraged to remove all personal information from bottles and containers if they wish.
Prescription and over-the-counter medications, pet medications, and medical samples will be accepted. Sharps containers will be available for hypodermic needles. Thermometers, IV bags, blood or infectious waste, oxygen tanks, and commercial waste will not be accepted.
For more information, please contact Anne Marie Merritt at Whitesell’s Pharmacy, 236 North Market Street, Frederick MD, or call at (301) 662-4848.
