[ARCHIVED] Numerous vehicles broken into during overnight hours

During the overnight hours on June 23, 2013 into June 24, 2013 Officers handled several complaints of theft from motor vehicle and tampering with motor vehicle in the Route 40 area. Targeted vehicles were parked in hotel parking lots and surrounding residential streets. The vehicles were targeted between 9:00PM and 4:00AM. Officers from the Patrol Division and the Street Crimes unit are continuing to investigate the incidents.

All citizens are reminded to remove all electronics and valuables from their vehicle. Vehicle doors should be locked and if applicable alarm set when exiting the vehicle. The Department urges anyone with information regarding the above mentioned incidents to contact the department at 301-600-2100. Suspicious activity can be reported anonymously to 301-600-TIPS(8477) or emailed to fpdcrimetip@frederickmdpolice.org
