UPDATE:
On May 12, 2013 The Frederick Police Department was notified by Baltimore Shock Trauma of the death of Ricky Quan Shelton. Mr Shelton was the victim of a pedestrian collision on May 2, 2013 in the 300 Block of N. Market Street. The vehicle operator, Anthony James Cilluffo, was arrested that evening and charged with several offenses to include Driving under the influence of alcohol. With the death of Mr Shelton, Cilluffo may now faces several additional charges. Those charges will be brought forward during Grand Jury proceeding in the near future. This case is still open and on going. Additional Information will be provided when it is available.
Previous Release:
On 05/02/2013 at approximately 12:31am, the Frederick Police Department responded to the Old Towne Tavern parking lot, located in the 300 Blk of North Market Street, for a single vehicle accident involving a struck pedestrian. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were immediately directed to the struck pedestrian who was later identified as Ricky Quan Shelton. Due to the injuries sustained by Shelton, he was flown to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Baltimore Shock Trauma Center for treatment. As the officers on scene continued the investigation, the driver of the striking vehicle was identified as Anthony James Cilluffo. Based on the circumstances of the accident and Cilluffo’s observed level of impairment, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
