Airfield Markings Project Begins at Frederick Municipal Airport
Frederick, MD -- The Airfield Markings Project at Frederick Municipal Airport will begin on or about Thursday, April 18, 2013 - weather permitting. The project is expected to last up to 10 days with the painting crew from Speidel Construction working 10 – 12 hour days and through this weekend. The painting project will begin on Runway 5/23 progressing to Runway 12/30 and on to the taxiways.
Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) have begun for the Thursday, April 18th closures. Information should be passed on to non-based users. Airmen are asked to be vigilant and exercised caution when flying at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK) over the next few weeks as this project will be quite fluid. Aviators are asked to check NOTAMs.
This project is funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Airfield markings are complicated and FDK ask for your patience during this project as The City of Frederick continues to improve Frederick Municipal Airport.
