Holiday & Trash/Yard Waste Collection Schedule

Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick Government Offices will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday on Monday, December 26, 2011. Offices will reopen at the regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. The City of Frederick Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2, 2012 in observance of New Year’s Day. Offices will reopen at the regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
Clarification to the schedule is as follows:
All City parking decks will offer free parking on Monday, December 26, 2011 & Monday, January 2, 2012.
William R. Talley Fitness Center will operate on the following schedule:
• Friday December 23rd – closing at 5:00PM
• Saturday December 24th and Sunday December 25th –CLOSED
• Monday, December 26th – opening at 8:00 AM
• Saturday, December 31st opening/ early closing 7:00am – 12:00 noon
• Sunday January 1, 2012 - CLOSED
• Monday January 2, 2012 - Open regular hours -5:30AM – 9:30 PM
The Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) will operate on the following schedule:
• Saturday, December 24th - Closed
• Sunday, December 25th - Closed
• Sunday, January 1, 2012 - Closed
• Monday, January 2, 2012 - Closed
The FCAA Soup Kitchen will be open as usual and serve a free evening meal from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. each evening.
There will be NO Trash Collection Service on Monday, December 26th in observance of the Christmas Holiday. This notice applies to residents that normally set out their trash out on Sunday evening for Monday morning collection. These residents are asked to hold their trash until the next regularly scheduled trash collection day. All cardboard items must be broken down and bundled. Extra trash must be bagged for collection. During this time, please recycle as many paper items as possible in your blue recycling bin.

This notice applies to residents that normally set out their trash on Sunday night for Monday morning collection. These residents are asked to hold their trash until the next regularly scheduled trash collection day. All cardboard items must be broken down and bundled. Extra trash must be bagged for collection. During this time, please recycle as many paper items as possible in your blue recycling bin.
The Downtown Commercial District trash service schedule will continue as usual.
Yard Waste Collection for NAC Area 6 that would normally occur on Monday, December 26th will not be collected until Monday, January 9, 2012. Yard Waste Collection for NAC Area 9 that would normally occur on Monday, January 2, 2012 will not be collected until Monday, January 16, 2012.
Remember - Holiday wrapping paper is recyclable!
