Frederick Police respond to shoplifting complaint and arrest husband and wife on drug and theft charges.
On 03/15/2013, at approximately 1852 hours, members of the Frederick Police Department responded to the Kmart located at 1003 W. Patrick St. for a reported shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers found that Store Loss Prevention Officers had Amanda Wingfield in custody after having been apprehended as she attempted to leave the store with numerous unpaid for items. Officers took custody of Wingfield and placed her under arrest.
Officers also found Wingfield’s husband Richard sitting in the Driver’s seat of a running vehicle in front of the store waiting for her. Richard Wingfield’s driver’s license was found to be suspended and he was placed under arrest as well. Subsequent searches of Richard and his vehicle revealed quantities of suspected crack cocaine, heroin and oxycontin. In addition, numerous hypodermic syringes, needles and other pieces of drug paraphernalia were located.
Both subjects were transported to Frederick County Central Booking for processing and appearances before the District Court Commissioner. They were fully identified and charged as listed below:

iii. Possession of Heroin
iv. 2 Counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
