On January 27, 2013 the Frederick Police Department responded to a commercial alarm at Glade Valley Sporting Goods in the 1700 block of N Market Street Frederick MD. Officers determined that a burglary had occurred at the business.
The investigation was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division. Detective K Forrest was assigned as the lead investigator. Through the course of the investigation Det. Forrest was able to identify a suspect as Christopher Lee Stevens.
On March 06, 2013 Maryland State Police TFC Kolina stopped a vehicle in the area of the Francis Scott Key Mall. One of the vehicle passengers was Christopher Stevens. Stevens was arrested by TFC Kolina for an outstanding warrant. During the subsequent investigation by TFC Kolina a handgun stolen from Glade Valley Sporting Goods during the burglary was recovered from the passenger area of the vehicle.
On March 07, 2013 Det. Forrest obtained a charging document charging Stevens with the burglary at Glade Valley Sporting Goods. Stevens was incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center at this time.
On March 08,2013 Det. Forrest served the arrest warrant on Stevens at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
The Frederick Police Department is thankful for the cooperative effort with the Maryland State Police to assist in bringing this case to a quick resolution.
