Saturday Free Flights Still Available During “Women Fly It Forward” Event
Frederick, MD -- The 2013 Frederick Women Fly It Forward Committee is happy to announce that flights are now available for all women on Saturday, March 9th at our PINK – Women Fly It Forward event. As the week-long Women Fly It Forward event draws near, Event coordinator Victoria Neuville Zajko has seen a steady increase in interest for the Saturday flights from women and girls of all ages.
“The goal of the PINK – Women Fly It Forward event and all of our exhibits and special guests is to empower women and encourage them to enter the world of aviation and aerospace; we believe that we can create an extra special day by including all women. We know that fighting breast cancer is a unique challenge and something to celebrate when the fight is over, so our priority guests will still remain those women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.” said Victoria Neuville Zajko.
Any woman who would like to experience the freedom of flight, please register for a flight today. Limited walk in flights will be available the day of. You are kindly ask that if you have already registered for a flight during the week of March 4-10 that you keep that flight and not request changing to the Saturday event.
The City of Frederick and Women Fly It Forward held a joint press conference on Wednesday, February 13th which included information on the Women in Aviation Fly It Forward Worldwide Aviation Week activities scheduled at Frederick Municipal Airport the week of March 4 – 10, 2013. Frederick Municipal Airport earned awards in 2011 and 2012 due to its participation in Women of Aviation Worldwide Week by introducing over 400 girls and women to aviation.
On March 9th, celebrating 50 years of women in space, Frederick Municipal Airport will host three special presentations from NASA guests, including a female astronaut.
