Alert – City Waste Water Treatment Plant Shut Down
Gas House Pike Closed
Frederick, MD – The City of Frederick Waste Water Treatment Plant located on Gas House Pike has completely shut down. Raw sewage is seeping into Carroll Creek at Gas House Pike. Gas House Pike has been closed to all traffic from Highland Street to Monocacy Boulevard. Citizens are asked to avoid coming into contact with water in Carroll Creek.
This situation DOES NOT impact City drinking water in any way.
The Frederick County Health Department has been notified of the situation. The City of Frederick Department of Public Works is working diligently to remedy the situation.
