Frederick, MD – The City of Frederick will have its day in Annapolis! With the 2013 Legislative session under way in Annapolis, The City of Frederick and partner organizations will highlight several major capital projects at the 7th annual City of Frederick Day in Annapolis luncheon on Tuesday, February 12th, 2013. This luncheon provides an opportunity for Mayor McClement, the Board of Aldermen and City project managers to present key City projects to State Legislators in Annapolis. Projects that will be available for discussion and review include:

1. Frederick Municipal Airport capital improvements
2. Monocacy Boulevard Phase II Construction
3. Downtown Frederick Hotel Project
4. The 3rd and final phase of Carroll Creek Park which has just received approval to go out to bid for construction
5. City wastewater treatment plant upgrade

“Bringing our projects to the attention of our State Legislators at Frederick Day is always an exciting event for us. It gives The City of Frederick an opportunity to showcase our work and discuss what our plans are and how their assistance is valued. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to highlight the best of Frederick and discuss City needs.” said Mayor Randy McClement.

“Each year, the City and our partners look forward to the opportunity to meet and greet the legislators who are making important decisions that could affect projects in Frederick and bring those projects to their attention,” states Richard Griffin, Director of Economic Development for the City of Frederick.

City of Frederick Day is sponsored by Frederick County Business Development and Retention Division, Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, Fort Detrick Alliance, Fort Detrick Business Development Office, SAIC-Frederick and the Tourism Council of Frederick County.
