Frederick Police Department detectives make arrest...
On 1/18/13, at approximately 2300 hours, officers from the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 400 block of W. South St. for a reported burglary in progress. It was reported by the complainant that someone broke into her house and was attempting to kill her. She also indicated the suspect had a knife. Responding patrol officers were able to quickly subdue the suspect, and he was taken into custody. The knife was also recovered at the scene. A large amount of blood and damage was observed at the crime scene, and the Frederick Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit was requested for assistance. The victim had minor injuries consistent with a struggle, and was treated and released at the scene.
Initial, conflicting, accounts of the incident led to the request for detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division to respond. Det. Jon Holler was assigned as the lead investigator. Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined the victim and suspect knew each other. The reason for the altercation was determined to be a dispute over a vehicle that had been borrowed and not immediately returned to the suspect. Additionally, the blood was determined to be from two men, a family member and a family acquaintance, that came to aid the victim in the struggle. During the altercation, the two men were cut with the knife. Both men were treated and released at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
