Kris Kringle Procession
The Frederick Police Department would like to remind citizens of the upcoming Kris Kringle Procession that will be making its way through downtown Frederick on Friday, December 9th. The procession, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will feature over 70 local groups.
The procession will start at the corner of East Patrick St. and Carroll St. and will head west on Patrick St. to the Square Corner. The procession will then turn right heading north on Market St., then turns left on West Second St., where it will continue to the Baker Park Bandshell. Following the procession there will be a holiday inspired ceremony at the Baker Park Bandshell.
The Frederick Police Department reminds citizens to be aware of increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the downtown area. There will be a significant police presence all along the route with additional traffic control devices such as cones and barricades to keep participants and spectators safe. Motorists should expect delays and plan additional travel time leading up to and during the event. It is anticipated the procession should be clear of the downtown streets by 7:30 p.m. West Second St. between North Bentz St. and College Ave. will be closed to motor vehicle traffic during the ceremony in Baker Park.
