On today's date, 01-15-13, at approximately 0728 hours, Frederick Police Department officers responded to hte 700 block of Cromwell Ct. for a report of a man holding a family member at knifepoint. The man was arrested without incident. 13-003018
On today's date, 01-15-13, at approximately 0728 hours, the Frederick Police Department received a call reporting a man holding his mother-in-law at knife point in a residence in the 700 block of Cromwell Ct. As officers were responding to the area, a third party reporter was advising that the man, identified as Horace Vincent Smith, was holding his mother-in-law at knifepoint and threatening to harm her. Information was also received that Smith was threatening to harm to his mother-in-law if the police responded.
Officers arrived in the area and took up a perimeter around the residence. A Crisis Intervention Team officer arrived and was attempting to make contact with the residence to request Smith to come out of the home. As the phone call was being made, Mr. Smith was located away from the house emerging from a yard. After a brief stand-off, Mr. Smith was taken into custody without further incident.
