INCIDENT/ INFORMATION:
The Frederick Police Department would like to inform city residents and visitors about recent vandalism to motor vehicle complaints received by our agency. Over the Thanksgiving holiday several vehicles had their tires slashed while other vehicles had their surfaces defaced by suspects believed to be using “keys” to scratch the paint.
While no identifiable crime patterns have been developed the Frederick Police Department has increased police patrols in the affected areas and residents and visitors are asked to remain aware of their surroundings and contact the Frederick Police Department immediately if they observe suspicious activity.
Holiday shoppers are also reminded to conceal any valuables or recently purchased items being temporarily stored in their vehicles from public view to lessen the possibility of being victimized by thieves.
