2nd Phase of Bike Lane Project Work
Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick has begun work on the 2nd phase of the 7th Street Bike Lane Project. Motorist and pedestrians will see installation of new pavement markings and signage along 7th from Taney Avenue to East Street. The work will take place between 9:00AM and 2:00PM beginning Wednesday, November 14th. Temporary lane closures will take place during the work, please beware of the Public Works staff in the installation zones.
In May 2012, The City of Frederick received a Bronze Level designation as a 2012 Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. This award recognizes the dedicated work of the City’s Ad Hoc Bicycle Committee. Tim Davis, Planner for The City of Frederick, received notification of the Bronze status from the League of American Bicyclists on April 27, 2012. Funds for this project are courtesy of the Maryland Department of Transportation.
The Department of Public Works is anticipating the duration of this project to be approximately 6-8 weeks.
